HUMANE TRAPPING
When
Nuisance Bat and Wildlife Control removes wild animals from
residences we will use a method that we feel is the most humane for the
animal. We strive to release all animal back into an environment that
has plenty of food and a proper shelter. But if the live trapping of
the animal will cause it stress or death, we may choose lethal methods.
Nuisance Bat and Wildlife Control believes that in certain conditions (freezing
cold and extreme heat) that it is not humane to release an animal in a
strange environment with no food or shelter; this will only cause the
animal to die a slow death and isn’t humane. If the
conditions warrant
lethal trapping, and it is legal in your area, this is what we will
recommend. Certain animals we cannot release into our release sites,
these include skunks and beavers. Because skunks are
Minnesota’s #1
rabies vector, all skunks are live trapped then euthanized. Beaver are
known for their destructive habits and we can not release them into our
release areas either. When we have to euthanize animals we
use
methods recommended by the AVMA euthanasia guide lines.
