Hoary Bat
The length from head to end of its tail 5.1-5.9 “, from wing tip to wing tip is 13-16” Weight is .7 to1.2 oz. Minnesota’s largest bat. The color is blackish-brown or tan colored at the base and the tips are frosted or grey. The tail membrane is fully furred. Ears are short and round. Hoary bats are tree bats and will migrate long distances to a` warmer climate for the winter months.  The breeding takes place in late summer. The female will store the sperm and eggs until spring. The gestation is 60-90 day. The female will usually have two pups. The pups are weaned and able to fly in 33days.
